Pramono Offers Cooperation with Gapopin in Eye Health Preservation

Jakarta Governor, Pramono Anung emphasized the strategic role of the Indonesian Optical Business Association (GAPOPIN) in educating children and advancing the nation. Hence, he encouraged Gapopin to establish sustainable collaborations with Jakarta Health Agency, Education Agency, and Social Agency.

Pramono conveyed the statement during the National Working Meeting and Indonesian Optical Business Association (GAPOPIN) 2025 exhibition at Shangri-La Hotel Jakarta, Central Jakarta, Wednesday (10/29).

"I'll encourage Gapopin to collaborate with the Health Agency and the Education Agency, and Social Agency, to participate in solving children's vision problems in Jakarta," he expressed.

Pramono Highlights Need for Preventive Action on Microplastic Pollution

This collaboration will specifically focus on eye examinations and distributing free glasses to the community, especially children in Jakarta in need.

"Let's to collaborate with Gapopin to run activities of distributing glasses to those in need," he explained.

He asserted, the Jakarta government continues to strengthen public health services, especially related to vision. Healthcare services are provided through various programs, such as screening, eye health education, mass cataract surgeries, and free eye examinations at all facilities owned by the Jakarta government.

Gapopin Chairman, Soelianto Rusli welcomed the invitation to collaborate with the Jakarta government, and the presence of the Governor is a tangible form of support for efforts to improve eye health services for the poor.

"This is his form of concern for Indonesia's eye health because indeed, we must take care of our eyes, especially our children," he explained.

This exhibition is a tangible form of Gapopin's commitment to promoting the advancement of the national optical industry. Besides being a platform for promoting products and services, this event also serves as a space for collaboration, education, and innovation to build a professional, ethical, and broadly beneficial optical ecosystem for society.

In commemorating World Sight Day, which was held simultaneously across 21 provinces, Gapopin conducted examinations for 10,000 school students and distributed free glasses to 9,200 children.

Through this exhibition, Gapopin showcases innovations and developments in the optical world, but also takes an active role in providing free eye health services, including examinations and free glasses distribution.
